Lord, the prophet returned to earth. No matter how we choose to interpret or understand this remarkable event, we are to realize that the buraq represents the forces of mind and desire which have to be harnessed for the journey to be possible; no matter how we choose to interpret or understand this remarkable event, we are to realize that this is what each of us is expected to accomplish, we have to subdue the qualities and attributes which are not God if we are to speak to Him, commune with Him in a meaningful way. This is the meaning of the haqiqat prayer, the third prayer of the day, the late afternoon of our life when every pore, every nerve, every cell resonates with that one pure note which is the song of the soul, of God in love with God. 101 |
